Hola! I saw this bag last night from Central Chidlom, during the on-sale season. The price was 13,230 Baht, 30% discount from the original price of 18,900 Baht. The bag is really stylish (to my mum and me) though it is too expensive.
I got this picture from a website called Zappos. The colour looks too bright compared to the real one. I like the colour of the real one.
The price offered in the website is US$271.93.
While, according to the exchange rate at the moment (33.8338), the price in Thai Baht is around 9,200!!
It is made in China!
Quite surprised that the importer set the price over a double of the original price. I reckon that this kind of businesses earns a lot of money now. Considering the importation taxes, shipping costs, operations costs, and so on; I am wondering if all of them cost so much that the importer has to set this high price?
Or.. they set the price according to the value of the product to Thai people?
I am convinced that one of their marketing strategies is setting the price according to the value of the product.
Now, why do Thai people have to value imported products more than their own?
How come Thais cannot produce qualified products under their own brands, while they have their skills?
I think this is a really big problem in Thailand now.
